Once again all new to us. We are testing the hot water heater and not finding any hot water. We filled the hot water tank FIRST then plugged in the anode flipped the switch to ON on the outside panel then turned on the switch ON the inside by the pump....Still no heat. Does anyone know what we missed? The dealer was closed by the time we figured it out it was not working.

Edit: We are trying to use the electric function of the gas/electric heater.

We just picked up our trailer Thursday, so the PDI is pretty fresh in our minds. Sounds like you also have a gas-electric water heater. If yours is like ours, you can get hot water by either gas or electricity.
If you were wanting to use the electric heat for the water, you need to have the trailer plugged into a house circuit (not just operating off the battery), and you need to have the HWH circuit breaker turned on. The circuit breaker for our HWH (hot water heater) is the bottom one inside the converter panel inside the trailer. You also would need to have the outside switch turned on.
If you want gas heat for the HWH, you need to have your gas turned on (and no air in the line - test by lighting the stove) and flip the inside switch on the wall.
Apparently you can run both gas & electric at the same time, to get a faster heatup. In that case you have to do all of the above.

Are you trying to run it on Gas or Electric? What do you mean by "then plugged in the anode"?
The switch on the outside is for the electric heating element. The switch on the inside is to turn on the Gas Igniter when running on Propane. If trying to run on Gas, sometimes there's air in the line and takes a while to light.

Yes it is a gas-electric. We are trying to run it off the electric. sounds as if we did it right. We turned both switches and made sure there was water in the tank. Yes, we were plugged into the house outlet. Now what?

We are trying to use the electric. The "anode" I believe is the heating element that has to be turned into place?

So....would the circuit breaker be turned off at delivery? ( new trailer) That is probably the problem. we will test in the morning.

Try the reset buttons on the front of the water heater. They are behind two rubber caps. If they are popped,they willclick when you push on them.

The Anode Rod and the Heating element are two different items. The Anode Rod equalizes aggressive water action, preventing corrosion of the tank.
As stated in previous post, it may take a while to light on Gas because of air in the line. Also, if for some strange reason the electric element switch was turned on with LOW or NO water in the tank, the electric element could have burned out.

If you have a by pass valve between the two lines that go to the tank it may be open and you will only get a little warm water. Just shut the valve and things will work the way they are suppose to.
