Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming---WOW WHAT A
RIDE!!!

We don't drive long distances each day. We keep it under 350 miles a day and have plenty of time to set up and relax.

My body insists that night-time was invented for sleeping, therefore I go to bed early and I get a headstart on driving next morning, about 6:00. If I get sleepy while driving, I stop and I sleep. My wife does not want to learn to drive the motorhome, which works out really well 'cause I love to drive this rig,....8 to 10 hours is no problem.

We don't "travel", maybe 300+ miles to camp. Road trips in the car I'm fine for about 10 hours, then I'm done.

I used to drive all night and now my eyelids go down with the sun. In 27 years of marriage I think I have been passenger with my wife for a total of 200 miles, she does not like to drive.

My brother-in-law did that with his wife until she got stopped for going 90!
In that case what you don't know could hurt you, or your pocket!
I do almost all of our driving. My wife sleeps.
I have a tough time keeping her awake to keep me company on the road. She has been that way since she was a kid. She just misses all the scenery going down the road.

We stop, during the day, if dh gets sleepy or there is a NASCAR event on tv. We are trying to slow down and take our time getting where we are going.

Just my $.02 (but with the economy it is more like $1.50), if you are trying to find ways to stay awake, get out from behind the wheel. You are driving a large vehicle or pulling a trailer and alert driving is a must. Too many truckers, and drivers are tired, don't endanger the ones you love by driving tired.

Just a note, some people can drive 10-15 hours, some I know can drive 24-30 hours before they get tired, so know your limits.

Usually the radio is good enough...now with Sirius in the new rig, the Broadway songs, or weather channel is good...
