I have a 32' Laredo fifth wheel that we love. The problem is with work schedules etc we only get out once every couple of months. Of course I have to drive the 2007 Chevy Silverdo 2500 HD to work every day. It's a 6.00 Vortec gasser. Comming up on 3.60 a gal is getting bad.
My possible solution. Trade the fifth wheel on a small C or B+ (there's only two of us)and the truck on a Smart Car or Honda Fit for work commute (26 miles each way).
I figure the payments on the Class C would be simular to the truck ($489) and the little car to the fifth wheel ($225). I would still have the camping outings and the savings in work gas would be a bunch.
Does this sound like a plan, any recomendations?? Rented a Class C years ago but never owner one.
