We are leaving this coming weekend for a 24 day trip covering around 2,400 miles. Fuel cost will be around $1,300. Kills me to pay the bill but I will not stay at home. Will change some of my future plans but will continue to use my fifth wheel.

We're not cancelling and since we made no reservations nothing to really cancel. BUT we were going to Montana and check out Glacier and Yellowstone, now we are staying in Washington and checking out?? Eastern WA.

We're just doing going from Southern Ontario, to Finger lakes (never been there), to Lake George to Montreal and back. We'd like to have gone to Colorado but since we just came back from a 2 week holiday in Florida, there's only so much you can do. Had we not have gone to Florida (which we really don't want to skip) we may have still done the trip to Colorado. The above scheduled trip should be fun too.

We don't camp just to sit under the stars and swim. We actually started Rving as a way to see destinations. I don't like the Ontario Provincial Parks with the over abundance of blood thirsty mosquitos here. Besides we have an acre and a half property with a swimming pool on it. Then I hardly feel like sitting in a provincial park close to home.

I want to see places and do things and I don't mind if they're close to home (within a day's drive) but going out west is one of my favourites.

No way. You only go 'round once.
Looking back and whining about what the fuel prices were, isn't a good experience to remember later when everyone else tells you about what a wonderful trip THEY had.
Going for it as long as physically able.

We are seriously considering canceling our planned trip to Yellowstone this fall. Rather we will stay in Colorado. Fortunately we have the Colorado Rockies in our backyard.

(Hi, Gordon & Patti!)

DW and I were were out hiking and talked about this just again today. Here is what I told the AP which hit USA Today and a few thousand other papers three years ago in my 15 minutes of fame (scroll down to the right hand column).

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2005-04-21-gas-tourism_x.htm

We feel the same way now although the numbers are different - so what numbers aren't different?!

Our trip this summer has not been altered and we are planning a long trip to the Northwest again for 2009.

We love the RV life. We see friends doing cruises, going out to eat $70+ dinners every week or so, going on two week golf junkets - you name it.

All of us have some degree of disposable income - choices how to spend it vary. We will RV, thank you.

God willing.

God bless - be safe.

Nope. I'm looking at a 2,000 mile round trip to South Carolina. Still going even if I have to give up stuff in between.

Three Questions!

1. Will Gas prices go down?
2. Are you getting any younger?
3. When are you leaving!

I think more and more people are thinking about doing so. We are just going to camp closer to home this year than usual.
