Brookwood RV Park in Marietta is quite good, and about 15 miles from downtown by Interstate 75.

I had that problem last month. Ended up at the Cartersville KOA. A bit north of the city but clean and easy in and out, as it is right at the exit. I would stay there again when in the vicinity. The only negative is the price is steep for service received.

Lake Allatoona is nice and seemed quiet when we were there. I 2nd that about the downtown area. Don't park in a place you have to walk back at night if you visit Underground Atlanta.
Plus the place is not made for big trucks like campers usually have.

Thanks to all that replied. I checked on the Atlanta South RV, but they only take resv's 30 days before arrival. I looked into Brookwood RV in Marietta and it is under new ownership and is now Atlanta-Marietta RV park (same ph#) Web: http://www.amrvresort.com. They had openings and I was able to reserve a site. It is only 17 miles from Turner Field! Has anybody on here other than MRUSA stayed there? It looks like a nice park from the website.

That 17 mile trip from Marietta to Turner Field will take about 1 hour or even more, so plan accordingly. There is no rapid transit available.

I've stayed at Cartersville KOA too. Nice campground, but it's over 50 miles from downtown Atlanta.

Good luck. Two choices, Stone Mountain (Google it) and Twin Lakes up the 400. Problem is distance. Stone Mountain would be closest and Twin Lake probably 30 miles. Some real nice COE parks up on Lake Lanier but again not within your desired range.
Try calling the Braves office for a recommendation.

Bob -- 30 miles in Atlanta. Doesn't that translate into 1 1/2 hour commute?
