Looks like I'm buying a 3712ts Raptor. Experiance tells me I want the second a/c. My question is do I want to install it in the rear or in the bed room? I've never owned a toy hauler. Note I will be using the rear for a kids bed room more than just storage. I need to hear from some of you that have learned the hard way. Thanks!!!

Put it in the main bedroom upfront, it replaces the existing vent. Pre-wired there too. For the garage, place a fan in the doorway pushing cool air into the garage, this works for us, but we only have the single 15k unit. You may not need to do this with two units running.

Thanks. Keep your fingers crossed I am going to PC Beach tommorrow to close the deal on a new raptor. I never bought a new RV always used and I have mixed emotions about taking the hit on buying new. What are some of your opinions on this subject?
PS looks like the air is going in the bedroom.

Fleahop, ensure you go through every cabinet especially under the sinks to ensure everything is the way it should be. I discovered only after winterizing mine this year that the propane detector was not hooked up. Have them pressurize the water system to ensure no leaks are evident. Our dealership threw in an in-line water filter in the kitchen only to botch the installation and have it leak. I finally just took it out. Check for loose or missing screws and if any are there, make them fix it. While overall happy with my Raptor, being a newbie when I bought it, there will be more I check if I ever buy a new RV again. In terms of the 2nd AC, we did not opt for it and I have been happy with out it even on some incredibly hot midwest weekends down in Missouri. I don't have anyone sleeping in the garage but the rest of the camper was very chilly with just one. The AC is ducted to the garage on my Raptor and I would think a fan between front and back would be good. Good luck!!

Fleashop -
I strongly recommend you to consider 2nd A/C in garage - especially in the south. Actaully, we have a total of 3 a/c - and use all 3 during the summer. The gargage seem to get much hotter than bedroom. Without a doubt, if I had only two a/cs it would go in garage. I have a Fuzion 3612

Ask yourself this question; Where will I spend more time trying to keep cool, the garage or the bedroom?, then put it there. btw, Weekend Warriors come pre-wired for a 2nd a/c in the bedroom, probably others too, that should give you a clue.

I have two 15K's. One in the kitchen living area, second in the front bedroom. I would put it in the garage next time. It would be cooling the bulk of the living areas that way (we really use the garage a lot for gaming, etc. with a lot of people). The ducting in the ceiling goes to the front bedroom as well as the garage. However, the small amount of air coming out of those vents compared to the actual main vent at the unit is not sufficient to adequately cool the garage, but would do the front bedroom. So the main unit, ducted forward to the bedroom, and the back unit on it's own I think would work the very best. I love the Raptor by the way...good choice! I'm not sure how their ducting and wiring can be run. You'll have to check on that. I had a Fantastic Vent wired into the garage ceiling and that pulls the hot air out and the cool air in so it's working just fine, just not the way I would do it again. I did maintain 71 degrees in 105 degree heat last summer though in Idaho. Not bad? Just some more info for you. Hope it helps.
