I have now 8000 miles on the Seneca and found all the nuts holding the hitch were either loose or missing! I was shocked to find they did not use lock nuts, lock washers or any lock tite. It was a near disaster, take a look at yours.

I think this is related... When I got my F-250, I did check the bolts on the frame hitch. I also check them at least once a year, as usually in the spring I take down, check, and put back the spare to make sure everything is clean and usable whether or not I've had to use the spare (since I am down by the spare, I look over the hitch/bolts).

OBR,

What year is your Seneca? There was a hitch recall on some '06 and '07 Senecas for hitch bolt issues.

Just curious.

That is very scary. I'll have to check my hitch, though it's a different RV make.

This is old news and a recall was issued and all newer models have been upgraded. Everyone should check the hitch bolts and nuts as a standard checklist before each trip. Dane
