I posted a few months ago about my poor old Bonaire trailer that got whacked by a pole in Playa del Carmen. The insurance company wrote the trailer off, so now it is time to look at something new.

We are seriously looking at a 2009 Nomad 196LTD...well virtually looking at it that is. We're still in Mexico, so we're trying to do this sight unseen.

Is anyone familiar with these Nomads? I know the name has been around forever, but there seem to be few reviews.

Our old trailer held up to the rigors of Mexican roads quite well, with the exception of the springs which we replaced a few times by the side of the road and then replaced as part of maintenance.

We like the Nomad mainly for the layout and the price, which is very good.

Gracias

This customer survey (admittedly unscientific) shows a good rating.

A good friend of mine had one and he loved it. Never had any problems with it for the few years he owned it, but they never went down to Mexico with it either.

I know we had looked into one before we got our Sunline and they are stoutly built, and can take a beating. But we chose Sunline because they would custom build for us. Who knew we would be one of the last ones to get one before they went out of business

You have chosen a great size for traveling all roads in Mexico. There are many brands that now have the same layout or very similar. Good luck on your decision.

What are you going to do with the trailer you have? IF you are going to leave it here in Mexico, I bet you could get an excellent price for it in PaaMul.
