We went on a wkend getaway in Cape May, NJ (just the hubby and me) and we want to take the camper w/the kids this summer. Any suggestions on places to stay? I found a couple on the net, but would rather go by those who have been. Beautiful place! A must see!

We stay at the Cape Henlopen SP in Lewes, DE and then ride as walk-on ferry passengers over to visit Cape May. Saves money on the ferry cost.
Cape Henlopen has a pier and swimming beach so children have things to do.

if your looking for a resort type park Beechcomer, north of Cape May on Rt9. There's also Seashore, and the Depot. I think the Depot is the closest to Cape May but it's not a resort type park.

We usually stay at Seashore and have stayed at Holly Shores. Both offer many things but the best is ease in getting to the lighthouse, zoo and beach. Wherever you decide to stay get reservations now!

I only stayed at Cape Henelopin at Lewes once. It was nice, but beware of no see-ums which bugged us on our trip. CampMor sells fine mesh screen for $6/ a 6 ft wide yard that can be sewn behind regular tent screen to keep them out. Unless your tent is new and brags about keeping no see-ums out, you're vulnerable.

Sorry but I can't recommend any good ones but can steer you away from a bad one. Holly Shores! In all fairness it was quite a many years ago I was there, but would NEVER GO BACK! Dirty bathrooms, tents stacked one on top of another. Didn't enjoy ANY of it.
Now it is only Me, The Wife, and my dog. Thank God!

Yuck. Pay to get on the beach?? Pay to park anywhere you go? Even downtown Chicago has only ONE of those flaws. Final straw was when a got a parking ticket when the meter was clear across the sidewalk hidden in vines against a wall. Didn't even know it was there!
Cape May is nothing but an exploitive tourist trap.
