I agree with tyndall. I've used the program he references several times to reset a Windows password. Works fine. Install a new hard drive, reinstall Windows, or pay money??? No way.

I created one of these that is bootable and has helped me solve computer problems and passwords.
But if it is a BIOS password, those are much harder to fix if not impossible.
There is a site that takes you step by step as to get at the battery in the laptop that powers the BIOS password. To much work for my fingers and expertise.

Oof. I'd hope not. Some laptops can have the bios reset by shorting it like a desktop. Others have hard drive passwords and/or a super secure bios (ibm) that pretty much renders the board useless. In any case, that password cracking service or boot disc would be useless.

I have used this method several times to get into XP computers that had unknown administrator passwords. It did no damage to the existing files or programs. You need your XP install disk and CD key (usually somewhere on the computer). Clickity CLICK!
