I just start telling them what I really think about religion or politics. They usually don't come by again.

I have not had that problem with an adult, but last summer my grand daughter was playing with this little girl, that drove us all crazy. She was camping alone with her grand mother. I noticed the grand mother had a beer in her hand morning and night. Nothing wrong with that, except she forgot she had a child there in her care.

After a couple of days with her being with my grand daughter from morning until night, grand daughter had had enough and asked us what to do. We fed her lunch, after noon snack. She went swimming with us. Took walks with us.

We decided to get in the truck and take off for a while. When we got back, she was at the door before we could get in the RV. Grand daughter told her she had a headache and was going to take a nap. Didn't come out side the rest of the day.

Thankfully the next day she had lots of family members show up. We got a break!!!!!

It takes a lot to made me not like a child. But.......she was getting pretty darn close!

An adult???? I think it would be easier to get rid of them. Wouldn't mind hurting their feelings as bad as I would with a child.

My DH is a geezer magnet. Every time he begins to set up the satellite dishes and tripods, or has the hood of the truck up, or has the tool box out, here they come. They chat, offer advice, reminisce, and don't go away. We don't REALLY mind, it just takes a lot longer to accomplish the intended task. It wouldn't occur to us to offend them to make them go away.

Learn a little about one of the unusual religions that are out there and then try to convert the person to that religion.

Seriously, be friendly for a while, and then just say something tactful to indicate that you need a little personal/family time.

Haven't really had that problem recently, but years back I did. Just told the visitors "don't mean to be rude, crude or impolite, but I'm too tired to socialize" and they left. Me - got in my chaise (sp) and promptly fell asleep!
Of course, one could mention they were 'still contageous' from some dreaded flu or something!

You can always ask them to help out with that black tank cleaning project you've been putting off for several years.

Just show him your nervous twitch and then start drooling . . . he will either go away or you will become the best of friends.

Get some Amway sales brochures and try to sell stuff to the person.
