Just tell them "I can't hear you over the voices in my head." Then walk away talking to yourself.

I actually have a real problem with this. There is a woman that comes to the same campground year after year and she tries to latch onto me. Most people run and hide when they see her coming. I wasn't wise enough at the time to do that and got cought by her. If you show any kindness or interest she latches on and will not go away. She talks more than any person I have ever met. She is obviously intelligent but it is so one sided that I can't help but feel like I am being dumped on somehow. Last time I saw her she cought me and told me how someone gave her a cat and how one night the cat was sleeping on her feet and she didn't like that so she kicked it as hard as she could and that cat never did that again. I hate her for that. Nevermind. I think I just solved my own problem. Here I was thinking there must be some magical way to get rid of her without hurting her feelings. What do I care about her feelings when she has such ugliness in her that she could hurt an animal? I know she will try to attach herself to me this summer and I am going to rehearse a few things just for her.

1) You are driving me out of my mind.

2) Remember when you told me the story about how you kicked the cat? and then slam my door

3) Your constant talking is on my last nerve.

Hurt a cat indeed. How much hostility does a person have to have inside them to do that?

Cabin Lady,
If this lady comes around again this year, just kick her as hard as you can. Then, maybe she won't come around anymore.

WOW I am not alone on this. Fun to read others experiences. I guess like all other lifes choices...Be yourself...which means I will make them angry.

Holy Cow!! Some of you guys are rude... if they are alone.. they are probably lonesome... put yourself in their shoes. Talk awhile.. and then lie if you need to! But don't hurt their feelings... they have had that done many times already, I am sure.

I so agree with you. I didn't realize people especially campers are that cold and harsh. I think I would at least talk alittle and then maybe make some excuse but to be that cold and rude I couldn't do it.

I don't think most of the replies were from cold and harsh people. Most of them (at least mine) were making fun of the need to do something about this problem.

I have a gift... Im far too out spoken, too much of a know it all, Im too ready to share my opinion on any subject, and my political compass points in a direction most are uncomfortable with... Im just generally too hard to get along with. All I need is 5 minutes with anyone and they wont want to come back

heck, and these are only my good points !

Ask for gas money. Just say "Ummm, can I have $20 buck for gas? I'm a little short."
Repeat until you get the $20 or they go away.
