Ever have the unwanted camper who is always at your site talking bout nothing all the time. How do you nicely say...get lost. I have tried things like..got to get ready for supper or need to do this..but no go...Hate to make someone not like me but sometimes too much company is overbearing.

I don't remember having THAT kind of problem, but on a couple of occasions I've had a camp neighbor with a dog that barked about nothing all the time. I just zapped them with my electronic silent NO-BARK gadget.

Yes, I have and it's horrible. I think I would rather put up with a barking dog. There's been about 2 different times we've been parked by a unwanted camper ( a single person). I've come to the conclusion after a couple days with them their a really nut case. I told the manager don't you ever park us next to undesirables again. Don't get me wrong we love to socialize with fellow RVers, but when a person is over 24/7 there's something wrong.

Sometimes the direct approach is all you have - something like "I'm sorry but I've been under a lot of stress lately and I must have a lot of alone time to recoup. I need to use the next several days to simply relax and do nothing by myself. Thank you for stopping by." Then go inside until he leaves.

sometime you have to be direct and hurt their feelings to get people
to understand they are not welcome or just being a pain.

"Excuse me, I'm sure you're a nice person and all, and nothing against you personally, but I/we really came out here camping to spend some alone time with ourselves and our thoughts. If you are in need of help, please feel free to ask, but could I/we get back to our quiet time, please?"

Or, post a couple signs that say "If this sign is out, I'd prefer no company unless it is an emergency. Thanks."

Either way, you have an out if they ignore it. Either "read the sign" or "is this an emergency" or "I've already explained why I'm out here, please stop interrupting my reverie."

Hope those help. Of course just hollering at them to get lost will get most people the hint, too.

We had a camping neighbor who stopped by every time he saw us outside. And talked and talked. It was my fault because the first time he stopped over I suggested he sit down. I suppose it is my mother's fault because she taught me to do that.

I generally say, "Why are you talking to me?"

While not very tactful, it is very effective.

I will hop the bike and go for a ride around the park. When I get back if they come over again I will tell them that I really have a headache and dont feel like having company. Usually works.

Have a great time camping,
