We had a camping neighbor who stopped by every time he saw us outside. And talked and talked. It was my fault because the first time he stopped over I suggested he sit down. I suppose it is my mother's fault because she taught me to do that.

I pick up my book again and start reading. Or I suggest that it's time for my husband and I to walk the dogs. Again.

Fortunately, most of the people that I have met haven't been this camper.

We have never had that type of person camp near us. I would just be honest and respectful. As long as you treat them with a little respect when you are being honest, I doubt you will even hurt their feelings.

Probably your best bet is to be up front with the guy. "Sorry I guess I'm not very sociable but I'm not enjoying our conversations" or something like that. No...he's NOT going to like you but since you don't like him what difference would that make?

Man these suggestions can't be coming from the nice, friendly folks on this site. Talk about downright rude and mean!! As nice as the folks are here I'm betting that hardly any of you would REALLY say things like that.

But then again...... LMAO!

Well, certainly it has happened in our 30+ years of RVing but really not very often so I'm kind of surprised to hear it as a problem. I would rather have a neighbor stop and visit than to be in a campground several days and never meet anyone.

Never had that problem. Probably because I stay inside most of the time, and appear to be anti-social.

If it is a single person, they are probably just lonely and need somebody to talk to. Next time, why don't you introduce him to a nice single lady.

Just say "I'm going to go mix a drink to make you more interesting"

Lord, grant me the senility to not recognize the people I don't like, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference
