I'm looking for a King Pin stabilizer for our 5th (heard they help with the sway/shake). Anyone know of a tried & true brand? Am also looking for wheel chocks - saw a thread about 'rotochocks' and they sounded good....any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Ultra-Fab here is a heavy steel model, very sturdy. We got ours on sale at Camping World 3 years ago for $59.00. Shop around for the best price.
It also acts as a security device, locking to your king pin.

Same Ultra-Fab here too. We like it, I just upgraded to a heavier Master Lock.

Roto-Chocks are a good investment, I actually have the BAL deluxe locking chalks, same concept but cheaper. Wouldn't leave home without them. Get the chalks for both sides along with your stabilizer and MAN what a difference!

The Rotochocks are a very good investment. I use my king pin stabilizer, but not sure it helps much. I'm not sure I would buy one again. I hear there are better stabilizers out there. I just can't afford them.

We gained so much additional stability after we began to use the rotochocks that we never bothered with the kingpin tripod stabilizer after that. Got rid of the stablizer a couple of years ago and have yet to miss it.

May not be the story for all rigs but it's true for ours.

Safe journeys,

John

If you need to need to google up Rotochok you need to use this spelling and just the one word.

We have a tripod and it does work...but we moved to the PlugitRights and couldn't be happier.

I will gladly sell a 4 month old King Pin Tripod to anyone in the DFW area.

I would say if its just the two of you, a tripod is fine if you can deal with some movement and I will agree with others, get the rotochocks, they help tremendously when used with the tripods.

My wife is pregnant so sleep is well deserved that is why I elected to put the PIRs on....you know the old saying, if momma ain't happy, no ones happy. Just kidding...but I wanted her to be able to sleep well even if I or my daughter was up and around going potty at night etc.

I got my tripod stabilizer at RVWholesalers and my BAL deluxe locking chocks (for both sets of tires) from PPL. My 5er is rock solid every time.
