OK, I checked all of those links and really didn't come up with much. some folks got about 20% off IIRC, but I KNOW in the past somebody had some quite large % figures posted here. probably reflected those after 2005 price hikes??

Chatted with a lady who's husband sells RV. She says markup is around 30-35%

Nora,

Wanted to clarify something that is often true in retail. I *think* it is true in the RV business, but don't know for certain. Markups are often quoted as a percentage of the retail price, not what would be the normal way of doing it, which be as a percentage of the wholesale price.

Example: If a retailer paid $66,667 for an RV and listed it at $100,000, most of us would consider that a 50% markup--from $66,667 to $100,000. In retailspeak, though, I believe it is referred to as a 33&1/3% markup--$33,333 divided by the retail price of $100,000.

P.S. When using an example relevant to B buyers not too long ago, it made more sense to use $50,000 as the dealer cost and $75,000 as the retail price. Seems like those days are over.
