We recently purchased a 2003 Mobile Suites. Apparently the unit had been stored without the refrigerator door being open. I have done the usual, aired out for a long period of time, cleaned good and left an open box of baking soda inside. It still does not smell good. Ladies, any suggestions?

Thanks

I had an electric problem and the freezer defrosted... well to say the least..stinky. I washed it all out with vinegar water which helped some, then I put in a couple boxes of soda which didn't work as well, then I dumped the soda in the freezer and got it in every nook and cranny I could find and that helped. Then finally I went to WalMart (I think) and bought a refrigerator thingie that was made with charcole and now my freezer smells like new.

How do you like that for tech talk. LOL

Try cleaning with Clorox Cleanup and then leave a couple handfuls of charcoal briquettes in the refrigerator and freezer. Leave for a week or more and no more smell.

Try slicing a lemon and placing it in the frig for a good few hours or days.

Old movers trick when a refer door will be closed for a while....about a 1/2 cup of ground coffee sitting on a filter in each compartment, and close her up for a while....Brian

That's, cool, Brian, thanks. So much for the ladies knowing best.

Another method that works is to roughly crush about a cup of charcoal, not the self lighting kind, and place it in the fridge for two or three days with the door closed.
