We love our Fathers day weekend trips to Winhall Brook in Jamaica Vermont. It is an Army Corps of Engineers site, some water and electric sites, right on a beautiful river in the with mountains around. I will have to post some pics after our trip this year.

Wow, some of these sites look great. I'm really going to have to start gearing more towards the SP's and NSF/COE lands. I've actually never stated at a COE campsite. I'm going to have to do some forum searching and get more info.

I've avoided some of the getting away because I don't yet have a generator for my fifth wheel. Looks like it's time to break down and buy one.

Keep the great suggestions coming! I'm looking at every one of these websites and googling all the parks mentioned, great stuff. thanks

That's fantastic!

And some of the other posts included some beautiful spots, too. Those campgrounds I'd stay in!

But, I imagine those Southern and Mid-Western States get a lot of bugs near those lakes in Spring and Summer. Deet to the rescue, eh?

I agree with all the people that say state and national park campgrounds are the most scenic. Get a quiet generator.
