I have been considering moving up to a Class A. Are you saying that if I buy a Newmar and then post something negative about it, Newmar will somehow hold that against me and not co-operate in the repair. That doesn't sound like a company I want to deal with. No wonder you guys are so quick to blame the owner.

Would the poster please respond with the results as to specifically what the problem was and how it was resolved in detail. Otherwise everything else is purely speculation!

I'm not a big fan of Power Gear either.
BTW: you should be contacting Newmar about the trouble first before posting complaints on any forum. These forums are open to ANYONE that wants to read them and Newmar does monitor some of them. You'll get far more co-operation by them if you use honey rather than vinegar!
It may be nothing to do with the MH itself and my just be an adjustment to the levelers, you're taking one repair places word that there's a problem with the whole line and I've never heard of a problem like yours with ANY Newmar. Not saying it hasn't/doesn't happen, just haven't seen it.
On edit:
Maybe you should change the title to "Power Gear Levelers, Beware"
The OP said he liked his coach and was just stating a problem. He didn't sound bitter about it so why shouldn't he post it. So what if Newmwar, or anyone else, monitors these posts. Maybe if more people told the truth there wouldn't be so many problems with motorhomes in general.
We hear it all the time. Ask someone, Do you like your coach? Answer: We love it. Do you have any problems? No. it's great. Then slide in-How is your service department? If they answer then you know they have lied.
Whether it is a jack issue, a service issue, or a defective part issue, it is ultimately a Newmar issue.

Where is the OP? He originally posted on 4-29 and said he was taking it in on 5-6. We are almost 2 weeks past that and still no reply on what the problem was. Without a reply I would guess it is something he was doing wrong.

No one is disputing that - even Newmar; at issue was the opinion of the OP the had a "major problem", and a "beware" was announced in the topic title. Beware of what? His "feeling" he had a major problem.
Quote: We have an appointment to go to Mesa on Tuesday and they are going to try their best but warned us there is a major (major is my feeling) problem and we may have to take is back to the factory for a total fix.
No matter what brand or builder, without knowing what was going on then to announce "beware" we have a "major problem" because his "feeling" is simply irresponsible - period.
If this truly is a major problem then by all means please come on here and post any and all of the details. Until then this is nothing more than another example of how internet rumors get started. Lets deal in FACTS, not "feelings".

Since you state that you "push one button" and the system levels automatically, I would assume the problem is in the computer controlled leveling system.
Can you over-ride the automatic arrangement and simply push the buttons (are there any?) individually to level the coach? We have Power Gear levelers but the old fashioned manual push button controls and have never had any kind of a problem.
I have never had faith in automatic controls like leveling etc. Just too many things to go wrong with a system that is designed to a tight budget.

The issue was apparently fixed by La Mesa, but no details as to the cause or solution was given here.
Well...it does look like it was simply a jack issue, not a "major problem".
From IRV2:
Quote: Hi Dav, I thought you had picked it up on my first post, I am not used to this site yet. When we tried to level our coach with the jacks the body would twist out of shape so badly that we couldn't open or close the door. It also threw the bathroom door out of kilter also. I don't what all LaMesa did but it levels perfectly now

Seems like jacks were suggested in the second post.
Try removing the door and then leveling the coach, re-install the door in the leveled coach, pull up the levelers and see if the door will open. If not, install an outrigger (from frame to outside wall) before and after the door to brace it.
