Hi. We have reservations at Campland on the Bay in San Diego during July. I have seen some mixed reviews. Can anyone give me any more information?

when I lived in SD I know alot of people camped there every holiday, I never liked it that much because I liked the state parks they were less money and more room.

I am traveling with four small kids, so it looked like they had lots of stuff to keep them busy and the beach as well. We are not going over a holiday weekend, so hopefully it won't be too insane. I was just curious what people thought of the place and if it was at least decent. Thanks for the info.

As a kid, I thought it was the greatest place on earth. As an adult, it was frightening with all the kids running around. It is definitely a kids place. I used to live a couple of buildings down from the entrance.

We were not impressed for the prices. PLUS, we had gone into the water to cool off (it was summer a couple of years ago) and it wasn't more than half an hour AFTER we got out that they posted "Water Contaminated - No Swimming"!!! We were really unhappy!

We were there last July. Had a blast - course if you want to sit in your rocking chairs on the porch you probably won't like it - but the teenagers were not foul mouthed, they had lots of activities for the kids and we enjoyed the Jimmy Buffet type of band on Friday night in the park area, and the marshmallow roast on the beach they had on Sat night. Also watched SeaWorld fireworks at night across the bay, and enjoyed the pool! had no issues. They are strict with if you have a visitor - and making sure they pay for a parking pass. But we had a blast, even bumped in to some fellow zonies, some we knew from Phx some were new friends. We will be back!

Hey Thanks AZ Garfield. I'm glad to hear something positive. My kids are looking forward to it and we will be there over a weekend so we will enjoy all the festivities.

We've been there several times. We do not have kids, so it was a little crazy for us, however, the facilities were nice. It can be tight in some areas, but overall the place is nice. Tons of stuff for kids to do. A friend of mine goes there with several couples, all of whom have kids, and she likes it because the kids can just go and do whatever and she can sit and read in peace and quiet. As a family destination place, I think you will have a great time!
