Sorry, I must be referring to an older Cyclone. As for the the Raptor, the one I looked at did have wood in the roof. We have weighed our full units on the way to races and my CrossRoads is always lighter than the Cyclone and Raptors even though I'm carrying a quad, bikes and all my business stuff and they are carrying bikes. That is with my 112 gallons of water too.

Not familiar with the Cyclone, but their website pics ect look like a nice and comparable unit. I have an 08 Raptor 3612DS and thus far have been quite happy with it.

If you're looking for carrying capacity, the Cyclone takes the cake. Having said that, I hope you have a capable TV. We pulled our Raptor for 12k Km last year and the only problem was me leaving a cabinet door open in the bedroom while bringing in the slide. I'm glad the wood around the bed is only sheathing. Great unit so far.

Its all personal preference...I looked at the Cyclone 3975 (?) and the Raptor 3612, back in 2006 when I was shopping. With all the hoopla and the literature about how the Cyclone was superior to the Raptor, I was dissapointed in the quality, trim and assembly inside, caulking and the fiberglass on the outside on the unit I saw. Pricewise, when I mentioned I had looked at the raptor 3612DS and could get one (then) for 41995 in Washington, the Cyclone dealer (in Oregon) dropped his price to match that. I ended up buying a 07 Raptor 3612DS (had the new TV over the door) and the gel coat sides. The only thing that bugged me was that the bedroom slide had just one window, queried the factory rep at the RV show and the dealer added a second bedroom window on the slide. Been pleased ever since!

We really like our Cyclone. We have 3 different friends that have Raptors and they are all nice as well. There are things about our TH that I like better than theirs and things about their TH's I like better than ours and there are similarities as well. I don't think you'll be better or worse off based on which brand you choose. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies! We are full timers currently in a Hitch Hiker. We are mountain bikers (you know with pedals) so, weight is not really too much of a concern. Just need some place to store the bikes (all 8 of them) and stop worrying about them being locked beneath the skirt of the 5W. I think we are leaning toward the Cyclone. Thanks again for all your input!

The raptor is a good solid chioce, but i would also consider looking at the fuzion as well, same manufacture but a little more standard features. We love ours!

I also own a Cyclone and love it but I believe you would be happy with either unit. Pick the one that suits your fancy and camp on.

I picked the Raptor for two reasons -- price and the 14' garage. To my knowledge there are only two companies that make a 14' garage model (Keystone and K-Z). Ours was a leftover 06 at the beginning of 08 so we got a stellar deal on it.

I looked at the Cyclone and really like their floorplans. The 4012 is great, but I don't like the tiny 45 gal gray tank. I would get the 3912 instead if I were getting a Cyclone.

FWIW, I weighed mine the day I bought it (completely empty) and it was 2850 pin and 9550 on the axles. Fully loaded with quads (see sig), water, tools, food, clothes, propane, etc, etc, it was at 3200 pin and 14500 on the axles. I normally keep the water tank almost empty, but I wanted to see what total weight was this time.

They are both good trailers.... You shouldn't be disappointed with either one. So, select the one that has the best features and colors, etc.... that you like.
