Hello, we went from backpacking to car-camping. Car-camping to pop-up. Pop-up to 24 foot travel trailer (which we did love). Travel trailer to 26.5 Lazy Daze Class C.

Would we go back or did we regret going from travel trailer to class C...NEVER!

The joy of having the camper packed and ready to go is priceless for my husband (who did all the set up work, hitching, driving, etc). Our C has electric levelers which are very helpful. We can pull off, park anywhere we fit, go to bathroom, eat lunch.....If the weather is bad, we level the next day if necessary. We do not level if we are on the move during the day, only when doing overniters or longer.

The ease of having everything self-contained, with generator (we have no slide so do not need to even set up that) is PRICELESS.

We take a toad only on our long trips (two weekers). That part is a little work for DH but he has the experience of hitching up trailer and pop-up and does not mind.

We went to Yellowstone last year with the jeep/toad. We have talked about next time we go, just use the C. Gas mileage would drop about 8 miles per gallon but ease of just having one vehicle to deal with is good. Of course, you just can't take off to the grocery store! Have to plan better.

We can have the C ready to go in the morning or, to take off for the day, in about 15 minutes which is as long as it takes us to get the stuff in the toad to take off for the day.

If you know you are going to be out and about, you can plan things better such as electrical cord, water hook-up, etc.

There's my vote!

Our Jayco Seneca has semi-automatic levelers. They're very easy to use; you don't get out of the driver's seat.

We had a fiver, and now a class C. With the C, it is much easier to make camp or strike camp.

We have never towed anything and have had two Class C's. I now have a 40lb aluminum hitch rack for my Honda Trail 90 and it will come in handy for local exploring, going to the camp store, etc. A smallish Class C like our 27 footer is easy to park in restaurant and tourist attraction parking lots and once settled, we can stay put without feeling the urge to drive around. People who are social group campers, or who have restless family members, often "need" a toad.

From the cost standpoint a TT is much better. However, I have had both and the TT only lasted me about 6 months. The TT was awkward and in my opinion, was not worth the savings. Will never go back to the TT although, at times, I miss the room in the TT. It wsa a 34 foot TT.
