While traveling to Dallas yesterday from NW Arkansas (a rather boring 5 1/2 hour trek, 350 miles or so) to attend a conference, I decided to count the number of RV's that I saw traveling up and down the road.
Here are my findings:
Class A....................... 23
Fivers ....................... 12
Class C....................... 3
Travel Trailers............... 4
Total rigs.................... 42
I will try to do the same thing upon my return Sunday for giggles and grins. Based on the recent talk about a reduced number of rigs on the road, I wanted to do a count. Nothing to compare it to, so it is mostly useless, but kept me entertained none the less.

Well you got me going. I am going to start my own tally. We have been on 3 trips this month and I have not seen a shortage of RV's on the road or in the camp grounds.

If we get others doing the same it could make for some interesting findings. We could track it over time and see what the trends are saying.
BTW, if anyone is looking for a hotel to stay in the Dallas area check out the Gaylord Texan
We are sitting in the most incredible suite on the top floor looking into the largest atrium I have ever seen in my life. Incredible place, a must see even if you are just passing by DFW airport.

We went from Sacramento California North to Redding/Shasta area last week(Monday-Tuesday). I don't know how many RV's I would have seen if gas were back to $3.00 or so a gallon, but it was remarkable how many 5ers and Full Body Paint Deluxe Class A's we saw heading north. 2 1/2 Hour drive each way, in the 2 days at least 50 Fivers and 20 A's. When driving down in Southern California, we see more toy box trailers, then 5ers, followed by C's and A's. I have noticed on weekends, a lot less people driving around, it's actually a pleasant commute to and from work on Sat and Sunday!

I was surprised at the number of 5ers noted on my trip versus the standard travel trailer.

You had better make this a double blind study or your effort will have no creditability.

My wife and I have a game we play while we are RVing. We count the different type of RV’s we see coming at us on the road until one type reaches 10, we also see how long it will take. We find in our informal survey that it does depend where we are and the time of the year. During the summer months 5th wheel with travel trailer being close behind will be the leaders. When we are traveling in the winter, most of the time out West we find “A” and fiver are close, some days it one or the other, not as many trailer. Class C’s seems to be next, followed by B’s. Not as many truck campers, we see more in the summer.
It has taken as long as a hour to reach 10 and as short as 10 minutes, (summer time on a Thursday or Friday afternoon). The fun thing is to count semi trucks, will take just a couple of minutes to reach 10, there sure is a lot of them on the road.
No wonder the cost of things are going up. So many truck paying so much for diesel.

A few years ago I did a count on the first of February coming north on 95 through Georgia and northern Florida. As I recall I hit 350 over 6-8 hours. The vast majority were A's
