Hello,
We are planning a camping trip in mid June with twins and a 7 yr old. We are also going with 2 other families. I am afraid that it might be to cold for the twins so we are debating on how to keep them warm in early mornings and nights. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also what should I take for them or to make it easier on us?

WOW. Good luck. 
In a tent, eh? I would suggest making sure the site has electricity and run a cord into the tent. Use an electric heater with a thermostat and the shut off safety feature, just to take the bite out of the air. Place the twins in the middle of the tent away from the edges in a pack in play or similar bed. This will keep them off of the ground and also protect them from getting smushed. A few blankets and a worried mother checking on them 20 times a night and you should be all set!

Hey! Awesome! My parents took me tent camping (no electric, no water in site) when I was six months. Somehow they managed okay.
On the flip side of too cold, don't forget the baby hats to prevent sunburn in June -- as we tend to spend all day outdoors in our sites or sightseeing.

Congratulations We went thru the twins thing and they are now 52 yrs old. Dont worry it'l all work out.

When my son was 3 we tent camped for the first time since I was a kid. It was August, but Wisconsin. The temp dropped overnight to 36 degrees, and my son was sick before we left home. I didn't sleep at all that night, wondering if he was warm enough, if he would be okay, etc., and trying to stay warm myself. It was awful. The next day we drove to town to the local clinic (his diagnosis-strep throat) and stopped off at the Ace Hardware and bought a small ceramic heater. Worked wonders the next night. I agree with the above post, a pack 'n play will keep them secure and will prevent them from touching the heater. Warm p.j.s. Pray for good weather.

Make sure you have plenty of water, paper towels and wipes for washing up.
Little babies make big messes.
A few extra jugs of water and a roll of paper towels can make a big difference.
Also more clothes than you think you'll ever need.
If you going to be a week without access to a washing machine, bring a month's worth of onesies, pajamas, etc.

We've been camping since our daughter was 2yrs old I believe. That was 3yrs ago, and now we take along our son....his first trip was when he was one yrs of age....and now my wife is expecting....and we're still planning our trips for this year and dug out the tent yesterday to setup in the backyard to air out. My wife was pregnant when we started camping. We all love it a great deal, best family thing you can do.
Everyone has good advice. Bring plenty of items to clean baby with. Babies are very messy, even more messy when camping. I plan on purchasing a Coleman Hot Water On Demand tomorrow for this years adventures, to make cleanups more comfy. (those cold water sit baths on pic nic tables weren't fun) Well, the water wasn't that cold, the sun heated up the water container, but not enough for being comfy.
Bring plenty of clothing. Prepare for all tempuratures. Layer clothing at night. Onesies under the sleeper. A pack and play is great, it's much warmer being off the ground.
Have fun! Don't forget to take plenty of photos too.

We took our youngest tent camping at 2 months old, his brother started at 4mo, sister at 18 mo. Just bring their heaviest sleepers and warm blankets. If it gets really cold you can tuck them in with you in the sleeping bag. We used to have a portable crib that fit in the tent. Make sure they stay dry through the night and you should be ok. We loved tent camping with the kids. They do get extra dirty so be prepared to change cloths and wash hands alot. Have fun.

We took our daughter at 5 months old in March. Got pretty cold (high 30s), but we had her bundled up in 5 layers and a hat, in a playard with blankets. No problem. We also got one of those small electronic thermometers with a remote sensor and temp alarm. We put the sensor in the playard, and if it gets below the temp you set (say 38 deg) alarm will sound and wake you up. Good for those places where the weather is highly variable.

We used to camp in the Colorado Mountains. When ours were little, they would just sleep beside us and we always had their heads covered with footie jamies.
We had one of those catalytic heaters for mornings & evenings, but I still don't trust them at night, especially with a little one. Electric heater would be my choice.
