My water pump is letting water backflow through the pump. As a result, my fresh water tank fills up over time, and the pump cycles on for about 2 seconds every minute or so. I went to Camping World and they have the "rebuild" kit, but it cost $49.99. Heck for about $10.00 to $20.00 more, I can buy a new one. What pump would you recommend? I do not need anything fancy, super quiet, high pressure, etc. I just want the cheapest (dollar wise) pump I can get that is of good quality. Oh yeah, this is for my 1997 Bounder. Thanks.

All the brands of water pumps at a reputable RV supply store should work. Determine the volume you need then get the cheapest that will do the job.

SHURflo has always been reliable for me in motor home (potable water pump) & in the boat. Sometimes its worth it to get the new pump. These also have a filter on them. Good luck.

Hello, I had a similiar problem with my fresh water tank filling up. It was determined that the water pump was not the only problem. The other problem was that the fresh water fill valve was bad. The valve was not fully closing and it was slowly leaking water into the fresh water tank. It took several days for the tank to fill.

Additionally, my water pump was cycling constantly which also had to be changed.

The pump could be a problem, but be sure to check the fresh water valve also.

Hope this help.
