Picked up our '08 ROO 23SS from the dealer a few weeks ago.

Checking out the CONCERTONE system a couple weeks ago and was having a lot of trouble with:
1. the remote won't control the unit at all.
2. No video out
3. Wouldn't read CD's or DVD's (store bought)

Sent back to dealer by mail. Dealer is 3 - 4 hours away.
They checked it out and no fault found. However they sent me a brand new unit.

So, I'm reinstalling the CONCERTONE and find out there's no video cable to plug into the back. Didn't notice when I took it out. Thier cabling is pretty messy.

I have the rectangular audio connector, the Radio antenna connector and the power connector.

The only video cable I see in that area is from the TV antenna coming down and heading straight back to the rear. Doesn't hook into the CONCERTONE at all and no other video cable from the unit to either of the two coax outlets.

What have you folks found?
Does your CONCERTONE play DVD's to the coax outlets?
Did Rockwood just forget to put in my video out cable?

Thanks in advance.

Are these supposed to have video and dvd capability?

Spec says "Digital AM/FM/Cassette/CD w/ Remote" with no mention of DVD or video.

I don't know about the 2008 ROO, but we had a 2007 ROO 21SS and it only played CD's . We had to get a DVD player and hook to the television directly. I hope this will help you.

My 2008 that I am picking up Friday, I am quite sure it said DVD, it was an upgraded model system. The dealer even mentioned it as a DVD player. I will find out for sure on Friday after we go to the campground for the shakedown :-)

Do you have a model number for your Concertone unit? Not all Roos come with the same unit. Mine plays DVD's, CD's, etc. and has video in / out, etc.

I had a problem playing DVDs in my 2008 233. I removed the unit and plugged in AV cables drilled a hole in the cabnet to run the cable and it works fine. DVDs didn't play through the coax.

Yep, mine is definately a DVD/CD player.

Has video out connectors on the back.

When the dealer was checking it out, he told me he got video out.

I guess I'll either have to buy a TV DVD combo and not worry about the CONCERTONE playing my DVD's or I'll take the other advice and run a video cable myself.

Thanks all.

And if you're picking up a new Roo with this feature, make sure you test it at the dealer and get him to fix it.

For me it's more hassle to drive the unit back 3 hours. Easier for me to do this fix myself. (used to be an electronics tech)

Mine has no video on it. Just music. Plays CDs but no DVD or video at all. We have a 2008 23SS.

Our ’08 23ss is an early build, 7-1/2’ wide unit. We still have the older non DVD version Concertone unit. When I saw a later build 8’ wide at the dealer a few months back, I asked the sales guy if the factory runs the coax for the DVD over to the TV/Antenna hookup? “Oh yeah, that way you hook it up and use a portable TV” he says. Oh, well.

For those who want run the cable over to the TV/Antenna hookup, I have an idea for you.
There is a hidden wire trough that runs under the surface of the floor in front of the water tank over to the dinette seat area, just in front of the wheel well. You can feed the coax in this channel, feed it into a hole drilled in the backside of the double door cabinet, feed it out of the cabinet into some surface mounted wire mold, then up to the cabinet for the radio. Or, you could just run the wire mold over the doorway from the water tank cabinet to the radio cabinet.

Here’s some wire mold that we used to run some wiring on ours.

I have a 21ss Roo. I also have the concertone dvd/cd player with my new (08)trailer. everything works but the dvd player. I tried every combination of plugs and buttons. but nothing. My dealer checked it and said it needs to be replaced. (I'm waiting for the part). Also one of my speakers does not work. Their replacing it too. It's brand new ?
