Living in Northridge, California (the epicenter) we keep the rig full of water, fuel, and canned foods. It was our streets only source of power and the only working toilet for a few days after the Northridge quake.

We use ours as an Earth Quake kit also. After each trip it is fully stocked. Always full water, gas and propane.

I have well water too. I rinse the system in the Fall and Spring. Otherwise for the summer it is always at some stage of fullness. In the Winter it is Bone dry. Light is the culprit when it comes to fouling fresh water in the tank. I had a rig that had the FW tank under the dinette seat and enough light got to it that I had to clean it a few times during the summer.

We have to keep the Suncruiser in storage and keep it at half a tank. We try to keep the tanks full. At home we keep our beloved 87, 11'3" Lance Camper full of water and stocked as much as possible with canned goods for us and our dogs. It kind of sits in the side of the driveway and gets forgotton sometimes. We need to make sure it's maintained in case we have a large shaker. We live a half mile from the hayward fault near the college and want to be ready.

I agree with the other Cali posters, earthquake escape vehicle. Full water, gas, food, and all supplies. I have a 30 amp plug, and keep it plugged in and fridge cold at all times. I can be out and away in 2 minutes if necessary. The coach is cleaned and scrubbed at the end of every trip. The coach also contains first aid kits and pet supplies also.

On a trailer.. Empty works well (unless filling it makes the trailer trail better)

On a motor home I like to keep SOME water in the tank, perhaps 1/3 full (Just in case I need to pull over to the side of the road and change seats for a spell)

FULL costs fuel

At home I keep it full.. but then I use the MH nearly every day (It's my "Ham Shack" (Radio Room) and with a full tank I can make coffee... Or disposed of used coffee, With no problems

I clean it in the spring and add to it when needed. If it set long which never happens I would add the appropriate amount of chlorine to sanitize it.

empty

I put a 1/2 tank in at CGs...just in case the CG power goes out.
Been there before
I dump it on the way home...and leave the valve open while I drive to get it all out.
