We are trying to plan our summer holidays to and we figured we would go south to Montana. We are coming from Alberta and we were planning to travel to Yellowstone National Park. I was wondering if anyone would have any advice on where to camp around Yellowstone. Is there places along the way we should stop and stay for awhile. We have two weeks holidays so I think we will only get as far as Yellowstone. We would like full service campgrounds but will be fine without for a few days if the campground is nice. If anyone has any information on campgrounds that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Lots & lots & lots of posts here about Yellowstone CGs - try the search box on this site and it should help you with all kinds of info you need. Rvparkreviews.com is good too. If you do decide to visit Yellowstone, I advise getting reservations as SOON as you can!
I suppose I'd recommend spending several days in the Glacier/Waterton Lakes area too. I'm not personally familiar with it, but again, try some searches here, as there have been posts about that too.
Sounds like a great trip!

Two weeks is plenty of time to see Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, with Glacier thrown in. I recommend the KOA in St Mary (Glacier NP) and Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone (if you can get reservation and need hook-ups). Coulter Bay RV Park is best for Grand Tetons.

You referred to camping "around Yellowstone". If you want to stay outside the park I suggest Grizzly in West Yellowstone. A little pricey, but very nice park.

For Yellowstone nothing beats Grizzly in West Yellowstone, which is a nice town with plenty of stores and resturants. On your way down or back home make sure you see Glaizer NP on the Alberta bouder.

I third that recommendation for West Yellowstone Grizzly. We were there two years ago - we loved it!

Grizzly RV Resort in West Yellowstone is less than a mile from the west entrance of Yellowstone. It is a nice campground near the IMAX and a grizzly bear exhibit and an old train station is nearby that is converted to a museum.
The fee to enter Yellowstone is $25.00. But the fee is good for one week. So what we did was take our time. One day tour the northern loop. Second day the southern loop. Third shopped and sightsee the places around West Yellowstone.
If you have more time, driving down to Island Park Idaho is a nice area. There is a mountain you can climb (do it without a tow though) up to the top (almost 10,000 ft) and the view from the top is spectacular. It is called Sawtelle Mountain. See my profile. there is a picture of my wife and I from the top of the mountain!

If you want a nice full service campground 'around' Yellowstone, I would suggest Grizzly RV Park. That is where we use as our base camp and drive the toad from there. Mike.
