Try and get into Lake Rousseau RV resort and fish camp. We have been going there for the last 4 years. People are some of the best I have meet anywhere. Park is right on Lake Rousseau. Cards 2 to 3 nights a week, bingo twice a week. Too many dinners, thats why I put on 10 pounds this last winter. Crafts once a week, and a pool. Pool table in the second rec hall. The cost is under 400.00 a month if you stay for 3 months, Jan, Feb. and March.

Take a look at Sherwood Forest RV Resort in Kissimmee (Just off of I 4 on 192) Very handy to Disney if you're still a kid at heart. A bit above your price range but we like it there. Been going there for the last nine years.

Thanks for all the good ideas. Some I have been looking at others I want to take a good look at. The real problem seems to be getting into a good park for the winter. Most are full and somebody has to cancel to create an opening.

My neighbors would probably shoot me for broadcasting, but we stay outside of Dade City (north of Tampa). Dade City/Zephyrhills area has dozens and dozens of RV parks. We stay at Grove Ridge RV Estates which is on Highway 98, close to Route 301. Lots to do, heated pool (85 degrees), very friendly people and close to all kinds of shopping. I believe monthly rate is $475/mo + elec. This may have gone up but since we now pay the annual rate, I'm not sure what it is. If you want more info, please feel free to PM me.

IF you can get in, Larry Penny Thompson park just south west of Miami charges $455 a month, it is a county park and very nice with all paved sites and roads, I have been wintering there for 14 years,

John,
We stayed there a week last February and it is a great park and very reasonable. Tried to get in for a few weeks next winter and NO luck. Any secrets in finding a place in there?

Not sure how far south you want to head. If you want to stay north of Tampa, I live at Ocala RV Campground Resort. It is about 85 miles north of Tampa. We have plenty of sites available during the winter months. We have Pot Luck Dinners, Bingo, Some play cards on Wednsday evenings. Swimming Pool. park is kept clean. The cost last year was around $475.00 and that included electric. Cable runs around $30.00 a month. Try their web site: www.ocalarvcampresort.com
They are in the process of changing it, so keep rying if it doesn't work.
