Looking for winter rv park in FL. Tried TX last year and would like to try FL next winter (Jan.-March). Please don't tell me how much better TX or AZ is. We are not into golf or fishing. Need a park that has a lot of winter actives planned (cards, games, meals, etc). Would like to keep the cost around $500 a month or less plus electric. Have been looking at parks about 50-75 miles north or northwest of Tampa. The parks that I looked at south of Tampa were getting out of our price range. Don't want to go the route of driving for one park to another and staying for a week or two at each. With the price of gas that would get very expensive, also staying a month or more is a lot less.

When you find it let us know and it will fill up almost immediately.
My gut says there is no such place.

Lonnie,
I settled a bit farther south on Florida's west coast since my idea of snowbirding is spending a part of each day lounging under an awning with book and beer at hand -- wearing the "snowbird uniform" of shorts and tank top; but two of our friends swear by Theme World on Frontage Road off US 27 and I-4. Their rates are reasonable; they are close to outside interests like Disney, and they have lots of in-park activities. The weather there isn't bad, just a tad cooler than south of the big lake.
If you do want to go farther south on the east coast, look at Palm Beach County's two county parks. The one in Lake Worth has full hook-ups now. Or Lion Country Safari CG.
We also stayed at Happy Traveler on Fowler Ave. near Tampa. It was OK, reasonable rates, and enough to do inside and outside the park. (Big flea market across the street; also an indoor pistol range.)
The two Encore parks around Tampa were OK.
Good luck.

Here are some Florida RV Parks with websites that you may want to explore. They're listed by name rather than location, so you have to hunt the list a little. It may help narrow your search a bit.

IF you can get in, Larry Penny Thompson park just south west of Miami charges $455 a month, it is a county park and very nice with all paved sites and roads, I have been wintering there for 14 years,

Look around Dunedin Florida just north of Clearwater.

I agree that Larry & Penny Thompson park is a nice park. They just put in a swimming pool last year. And, it has a great hiking/biking trail. That said, it's not in the best of neighborhoods, has no central meeting/dining hall for cards, games, meals, or activities such as the OP requested. No shuffleboard, and no horseshoes that I've seen.

We were told by office personnel that longer-term snowbirds received preference on their waiting list. This last is becoming quite common everywhere.

They exist. But you better enjoy them while you can.

We haven't been but we hear Bushnell, north of Tampa, has some happy campers. Oaks RV Resort, Blueberry Hill are in your price range.

We like Grand Lake Resort near Gainesville.
