Do you plug in night lights for your little ones? How much impact does it have on your battery? Any recommendations for a nightlight that takes batteries?

We are just starting to camp in a 26ft TH with two 5yr olds and a 3yr old.

How about one of those round lights with dome that you push to go on and off they are battery operated. I don't know the name of them, but I have seen them in stores.

If you're camping without electric hook ups it won't do any good to plug in anything because you'll be running on 12 volt power. Leaving a light on is one option of maybe installing a switch they can reach would be a better one. Good luck / Skip

We use battery operated candles if we are dry camping. We got ours at Camping World on clearance for $5.00. If we have hookups we use nightlights (make sure to use the ones that do not get hot).

Thanks for all the great replies...I like the idea of the flameless candles. I bet I can find them at the store when I go get food for our trip tonight. Never would have thought of that!!

I have a Battery powered lantern and it has the little yellow light in the base - It can run for several campouts as a night light with out any problems.

Glow sticks create an amazing amount of light. We gave them to our 4 kids one night and after they went to sleep I had to tuck the sticks under their covers because they were too bright. Kids love them after dark around the camp fire before bed. They last all night long.

We also like using glow stick with our DG's because it helps us keep track of them when it gets dark and they also provide each child with his own "night light". I really like it when each child can have a different color, so I call them apart in the dark.
