It was all just for fun, Burl, not any discovery thing, not a venture - just a fun discussion.

Reply from Lizzie. My original post was in response to how nice the folks have been on the B Forum and how nice they are when we meet them in campgrounds. I don't know anything about B+'s or elitism or who can or cannot attend a Rally. Other RV folks are nice too. I agree with some of the responses that choosing a Class B probably means you have a flexible attitude and are willing to tolerate less-than-perfect conditions. Folks in tents and smaller RV's. are also prone to spend more time outside their rigs which makes it easier to know whether they are nice or not. Thanks to everyone for their input. Next a survey??
I was a little surprised by Rodger's post about RV Dealers "inventing" the b+ for the purpose of selling C's to people who wanted B's.
I was under the impression that an rv manufacturer invented B+ and it caught on because it was a way to differentiate between a C that had a cabover and a C that did not. I find it hard to believe that some dealers invented it because they thought they could sway B buyers.. There just aren't enough B buyers to begin with. Yet, I can see a manufactuer (and even dealer) just wanting something to differentiate the product from a more typical C.
I would think B owners would have a lot in common with anyone driving a C that was under 24' but with so few B owners I can also see them wanting to promote/explore/enjoy just B's so whatever works.
Personally I don't see the point to the B+/C debate. Nobody ever said ONLY RVIA could define types, there is no law, they were just the first to do it. They also chose to base types on chassis types, which was a great idea when they came up with it, but now Rv types and feature sets are blending/merging. Class A/B/C were all invented to help customers/dealers describe RV types. As the RV market continues to expand, and chassis capacity expands, RVIA will have to invent new classes or officially bless some kind of sub-class. Consumers should be able to go to an RV dealer wanting a Kodiak/Volvo/freightliner type of C and ask for a C+ or whatever RVIA calls it. Same goes for a Class C without a cab over. People demand terms for ease of communication. Who cares who invented the B+ term? I understand wanting b+ topics in the C forum, but why all the anti-b+ responses? Who are you mad at? Why do you care if the consumers/dealers have started using the phrase B+ although the RVIA hasn't sanctioned it? Thats the part I don't understand. Everyone seems to understand what B+ means, so why the hate? Is it just because you believe it was only invented to scam B buyers into buying C's? Not trying to argue, just really don't understand why it angers so many.
I think this has ventured off topic long enough. Sorry lizzie I thought it might get back on topic after your post.
If anyone else wants to discuss the very old B+, Class C debate, you are welcome to start a new thread.
