one method worked for us for a while was a ground run.... I put two pins in the ground with a cable between them, then used a shorter leash than normal to it (cable) and the dog. it made a straight tangle free (in most cases) run that was easy to step over and almost trip-less.

I'm considering this. How long is your run? Sound's like you no longer use it.

If you ever considered a screen room for ou TT this would be a good time to revisit. We got ours so our dogs could be outside whenever they wanted, we can leave the door to the TT open and they go in and out, they don't bother anyone that way, usually they both go out and just lay down and watch everyone.

Good one! I like that solution.

I have used 2 types of dog runs one as Wheel Estate stated that works very well, the other is a over head rope tree to tree and a pully that rolls the length and stops at the knot on either side. the down side is some parks dont allow things to be tied to there trees.

Buy a small poodle that constantly comes in heat and keep her in a small pen so she can't get out...that should solve your problem...That big male will stay close to her forever...Problem solved.

the leash was only 6 ' and the run was 10' . we had two of them when we had the second dog, now I have a very old dog left (the other past last Easter) and the standard is fine for all the longer he cares to be out.

Here's an idea...I lean toward some sort of constraint; leash, robe or whatever- too many unknowns- I could walk by with my two IG's and your dog (even if never showing previous signs of aggression) could decide he really liked/disliked my dogs and took off after 'em...etc..

Last summer, we had a situation at a State Park that could have been disastrous. Our daughter's black lab was with us, tied up on the coated metal cable to a tree. I was working on the fire in the pit getting it ready for the evening cookout. Our neighbor's dog was not on a leash, and decided to check our campsite out. That little dog would have got torn up if I had not been out there by her, as she was in attack mode. The dog continued to walk right up to her. I pulled our lab back by that metal cable away from this dog, as the neighbor came apologizing. I told him I was glad I was out, as the situation would have been different, and to be sure, as State Park rules state, that their dog is on a leash. Next, I put some aloe Vera lotion on my fingers, as they were burned holding that cable to keep her off. .

So, sometimes the cables or chains don't do much good if people don't follow the rules of the campground. We always keep her inside most of the time, unless someone is out, but some folks need to keep a better watch on their dogs.

Wondering if a screen room would do much to stop a big dog from going thru it. I'm thinkin my Bassett would go right thru it. He does everthing else.
