three or four X-Pens clipped together would give a pretty good size run for the dog. Yes, there would be some serious weight there, since you won't be using the 24" high ones that we use for our Papillons, but you could attach them to the back of the rig on a bicycle rack, to keep them out of the way when traveling.

Some people use the X-Pens, and then get smaller ones to run along the side of the RV, with the larger ones clipped together out and around the site. Usually under the awning. Just a suggestion.

For ease...just get a long rope and tie him to the RV. Some times the easy things are the best! If he's not aggressive, and won't bother people, you shouldn't have a problem.....unless someone else has that female Poodle mentioned earlier!

we either use 2 10 foot cables with clip hooks on each end to attach each dog to the holes in the awning feet (keeps them from tangling each other) or we have a fence enclosure that we can set up that gives them the freedom to move around a bit.

the fence is a little hard to see in the pic but it is collapsable and can be found at petsmart and petco

How about a good collar and a chain? Constraining a large dog, especially one with a dubious personality (the breed, not yours) seems the minimum that should be done by the owners. Nobody needs to be looking over their shoulder at a 60+lb. Dobie and wonder how well the dog is tied off.

I was walking with my uncle in a Texas state park several years ago and we saw a small dog chained to a tree near the creek with no humans nearby. My uncle asked me if I knew what ya call that. He said, "Gator Bait".

We are looking for good ways to keep our large male Doberman close to camp without over constraining him.

Let's see. Hmmmmm, maybe a leash, or gosh, I bet a tie out stake would work with a cord of some fashion attached to it and the dog.
