About Campfire Lodgings. I don't know the fee but you can rent a "yurt". It is already set up. Check out their website. I have looked at the yurt. Basically a giant dome like enclosure with a bed surrounded by decking which is set in the woods. It is REALLY CLOSE to the bathhouse. Just a few steps up from the yurt. Good critter protection.
This would be the perfect answer for your Biltmore trip. On different sides of town but roads are so good you would prob be about 15 min away. Campfire Lodgings also has a grocery store within minutes (located on Merrimon AVe)
Campfire Lodgings is a very pleasant place to stay. Bathhouse is modern with separate shower & toliet sections. Great views of Asheville, quiet, I've camped there in an RV.

I would suggest Rutledge Lake in Fletcher, NC which is about 10 miles from Biltmore House or Creekwood Farms in Waynesville, NC. Mama Gertis is not far either.
I haven't been impressed with the KOA's in this area for the price you pay.
