I know of no way a generator that light can put out 3kW...buy it, connect two 1500w electric heaters, and see if it'll run for a half hour or whatever time period they claim it'll run at the max load. I don't think it'll run for a half minute. It sure seems like fsdds described it...a disappointing throwaway unit.
Will a Yamaha EF2800i at 64 pounds run at 2800 watts for a half a minute. I do agree that the seller does not seem to back them, but seems to have good feedback from his generators, without anyone claiming less power than advertized.
There's no brand name listed. I suspect it's Chinese and the brand will depend on who's selling it. In another month, it may be a Sears, Auto Zone and/or Harbor Freight, etc.

Life is too short to worry about how short life is.
If its worthwhile, we'll see more of them popping up. A lot of the weight in the Honda 3000 is the battery, starter, and extra metal casing to enclose those. So the weight issue doesn't seem to necessarily be a factor. Only time will tell. That said, I can't see myself relying on one of these for my daily generator needs. But, assuming it gets good reviews from RVers, it would be a good alternative to the dual Honda 2000 setup. Use this one when you need AC, use a Honda 2000 when you don't. You loose about 500 watts that way, but you don't have to lug around two Honda 2000s and mess with the parallel kit. You also save about $400 and possibly get better fuel efficiency. For someone like me who only uses the AC a couple weeks a year, that would be an attractive option assuming this generator checks out. You could buy a three year square trade warranty for about $70 and still be ahead financially.

Could you provide me with a link to the research on this unit?

It just looks like some kind of another cheap kock off from China. I sure wouldn't waste my time or money trying it out. I don't like Junk to begin with. Thats why you see what I own in my Signature. But what the heck. Someone has to be the first Ginney-Pig, so go ahead and buy one, and let us know what you think of it. There's a sucker born every day, just waitng to fall for it. What is amazing to me is the folks on various thread who pass judgment on a genset of which they have no knowledge. I've learned to trust some that post like Wayne Dohnal who always want to give all known FACTS. Yes, this link appears to be for those's who might like to be what has been described as 'pallet load' dealers. However, some of these Chinese Inverter gensets just might be quite high in quality. Many like the one from the link above appear to be similar. This one is near like one that has a name of Magna. They all just might prove to be dependable and all are low in price as compared to name brands. Then here come the folks saying, they have no CS, like name brands will have cost free service for life. IMHO we should give a chance for some to offer their experience with a genset before we all pass judgment.

Your point is well taken. It might be of the highest quality. Down the line, however, parts may be difficult to get. I've had friends who had experiences with Chinese-made motorbikes, lawn equipment and even a small "Tiger" truck. They end up sitting idle for long periods of time because of the difficulty in getting parts. While they worked, they performed fine. When they broke, they stayed broke for too long.

Just try dixiesales.com for a lead in repair. I believe we are in the first wave of needed service of the Chinese C'Honda products. Lot's of lawn mower and small engine repair shops will come into play no doubt in the near future.
