Thanks

And Supercab, you need to open the front doors to open the rear doors. Crew cab has four dours that open individually. The Supercab (extended cab) is the compromise between the regular cab and crew cab. The crew cab has full sized rear seat, and available with bucket seats. Supercab has a rather smallish rear bench seat, that flips up for storing things behind the front seats. Seats are not nearly as comfortable for rear passengers.

GM says extended cab Ford says super cab. Crew cab has 4 full time doors. Super or extended cab has 2 main doors and 2 doors that open with the main doors open.

I believe someone, maybe Ford, also has or had a King Cab. Still not a full crew cab. Leg room is a major difference, I had a super (or king) cab in my past two Fords and hated to put people back there.

Dodge has a quad cab which is a full size door.
And then there is the mega cab. That's huge.
I have an older quad cab. The style with the half doors the open towards the rear.

Crew Cab / Super Cab
I'll sit back there / NO WAY
Actually a "super cab" or extended cab typically does have less leg space, a shorter cushion to sit on and a much more vertical seatback.
Good for extra carrying space and kids. Not good for most adults beyond short trips. Spend time back there then sit in a true crew cab and you will understand. We have had both.
IMHO.

Hi,
Supercab is Ford's brand name for the extended cab that it started to produce in quantity back in 1975. Crewcab was never really copyright protected (and enforced) by any auto manufacture.
King Cab is produced by Datsun and later Nissan, with that name protected by copyright too, describing their extended cab trucks.
GM and Dodge always used the generic name extended cab. Then Dodge finally introduced it's MegaCab and has it protected by copyright.
The basic differance is about 18". I loved my supercab, because I could move the seat back farther in it than on a regular cab, helping my 6'4" feel more comfortable. Then the crewcab is another 18" longer than the supercab, and makes for a longer wheelbase as well. So a longer turning radius.

I am not sure about your GM history, but your Dodge history is not quite right. Dodge used the term "Club Cab" until they introduced the first "Quad Cab" in the late 90s. The main difference between the club cab and quad cab was the fact that the quad cab had suicide doors that opened for easier access. The earlier club cab trucks only had the two front doors and you had to climb in behind the front seats. Then in 2003 the quad cab was made a little bigger and given doors that opened the correct way. It was still just a large extended cab type truck, but the doors fooled many into thinking it was a crew cab. So then Dodge introduced the "Mega Cab" for maximum passenger comfort. The "Mega Cab" is obviously a full four door crew cab.
