WE a have been using Lewis and Lewis for over 20 years. I think that someone other than Jim Lewis is running the company as the service has deteriorated. However other than the busy season from January to March I have been able to get throught with no problems. Some people forget that the most important factor is not the agent but the carrier. Qualitas is a huge company. I think the #1 auto insurer in Mexico. There are people on this board who have more $ than some of the Mexian insurance underwriters. They do not have the same laws as NOB and the industry is almost unregulated. Lesis and Lewis is one of the few agencies that will underwrite high end MH's as well as vintage units. Others will write the old babies but liability only. I think if you compare Mexico Bob's 6 month policies to Lewis and Lewis 12 month there will be no savings. I have had claims with Qualitas and I received good service. I have a big glass claim( both windshields in the Bluebird) to settle when we return in the fall and it will be interesting to see how it is handled.

Can we use Skype at Celestino RV Resort, and if so, what plan do you get in order to use Skype to a landline in Canada. We use Skype to make long distance calls to/from Canada/USA for only $35, but it would certainly cost more ( I assume) from Mexico to Canada. Thanks for any information.

Skype works from the old laundry room at the top end of the driveway at Celestino. We just got a basic Skype account and bought $20 worth of "SkypeOut" credit before we left home. We topped it up once down there with our PayPal account with no problem. Mexico to Canada land line calls are very cheap with Skype. A few cents a minute. The rates are on their page.

I think the answer depends on what service Celestino uses, if it's a US based service then the plan is different than if it's Mexican. A Canadian couple we were traveling with used their standard plan in some places down there but it didn't work in a campground in Mazatlan (must have been a Telmex land line connection).

I was using my laptop to initiate calls on the WIFI. It is more expensive if you try using the Skype 1-800 number from a telephone. We never tried it.

Thanks, crandle, for your reply. Do you mean that you first have to subscribe to the 2.95 rate per month first and then subscribe to the $20 skype out fee after. I have used the 2.95 rate for calls to landlines in usa and canada from my laptop and assume i have to have this in order to get the $20 skype out. Thanks for your information and looking forward to meeting new friends this coming winter in our playground in Celestino.

I do not pay the monthly rate. I simply downloaded the free Skype program and then bought SlypeOut credit. I cannot receive calls nor do we have an assigned phone number. I use it for dialing out only. I use Canada Direct or OneSuite for making cheap calls from payphones in Mexico and the USA when we have no Internet connection.

For emergency incoming calls we have a Mexican Cell Phone. We do not encourage people to use it.

I believe Cellistino RV park is 45 miles north of Mazatlan.
