how do you tell if your golf cart batteries are going bad

does it just not go as far between charges or can you put some kind of meter on them

It depends on the brand of battery and the grade of battery. The age of the battery is also a factor.Loss of run time is a very good indicator. On the negative post of the Trojan batteries you will see a letter and a number, the letter is the month and the number is the date. A E3 would be may of 2003.Four to six years is about average time for your golf car batteries.
