I have the Barker 2500 on my 800 lb tongue and it has no problem lifting or even breaking the hitch loose from the truck when it sticks.

Bought a Barker 3500 from Mantelli Rv on ebay. They shipped it about an hour after I paid for it. Got it yesterday by UPS and put it on this morning. Great people to deal with as their ebay feedback attests. The jack was a piece of cake to install. Running the hot wire from the battery the only real task to the entire job.
A note about some of the jacks on ebay. There are several that are "Factory Reconditioned" on there. Not saying anything bad about them, they are less expensive than new. But be sure to read the auction notes carefully when you are shopping so you order what you want.

I am a little leary of Ultra-Fab right now. I dropped my TT off at storage yesterday, and the gears stripped on my UF 3000. Trailer tonge weight of 550. I have had the jack for one year. I will be taking it off in a day or two and I am going to send it in a see what they will do. I have been really careful with mine, and never reversed it during a cycle, and have always kept it dry. I had to use my truck jack to get my trailer off, and then every piece of chalking and wood I had to set it back down. What a pain. Thank heavens I still have my old manual tonge jack.

Ya know, I also got to thinking.(scary huh) Maybe the best way to go would be a GOOD manual jack. I suspect the manufacturers put the cheapest jack possible on their trailers. The problem I had with my manual jack was it took 50 to 100 turns to get it up, then back down, then up at the campground, then down, then up and down, sheesh, I should have had Arnie arms!
But my question is this. Is there a good manual jack made with good gearing, to where a person can make maybe ten or twenty turns to get it up and back down or what ever?

A friend bought a "Reconditioned UF3502" from Mantelli's on Ebay, he experienced the same problem. I bought the "New" Barker 3000 from Mantelli's and have NOT had an issue.
BTW...Jay @ Mantelli's did fix my friend up with a replacement, no trouble, but still a hassle JMHO.

Update: I got some time today to drive out to my TT and put the new Bulldog 4000 pounder on. I hooked up my TV, removed the three bolts holding the old manual one on and in less than 5 mins had the old one off and in the storage compartment(just in case). I opened the box and pulled out the new electric jack. The jack slid easily into the first hole on the top and stopped about 2 inches away from where it should be. I looked underneath and found that the bottom hole was just a hair smaller than the top. A few minuets later with a grinder and my drill, the hole was big enough to bottom out the jack. Three bolts in with lock washers, and the nuts underneath secured it in place. I ran the wire along the shaft, and zip tied it all the way to the battery giving a neat appearance. Hooked her up to the battery terminal using a new connector, and viola, no more hand cranking for me. My buddy got there just in time to see me hooking it up. Needless to say he is ordering one now and I will be helping him install his in the upcoming week!

I took my UltraFab off today. There was a washer and ground up gears and grease in the bottom of the tube. I was hammered.
I won't even bother with this jack (trash) I will find a good one next time!

Oh by the way. Who builds UltraFab. No one seems to know. I suspect a Chinese connection here, or worse.

According to the information on the Mantelli ebay auctions the Ultra Fab line is imported, no indication of from what country. Barkers are made in the USA and even sport a sticker on the front of the jack that says so.

I ordered a Barker VIP 3000 from Mantelli's on Ebay today. As stated above, I had a UPS tracking number within an hour of payment! I'm really excited for it to get here so I can install it and check it out!

I will post back with my thoughts after all is said and done...
