Thats how we get the B H's in here. They read the name of the topic and if it sounds controversial they post in it whether they know about the topic or not.
That's why if you start a thread titled "OUTSIDE SPEAKERS" you will get a bunch of outsiders that jump in yelling about how you had better never park next to them at the campground when they don't have a clue about how 95% of us camp in the boondocks.

It happens here from time to time, and though I agree we need to know what's going on when the threads go that direction they get shut down too. Both Dave and I are riders so you can trust that we are not closing down out of disagreement, but the rules of RV.net still need to be followed by all members.
Y-Guy is exactly right as to why I closed the thread.
There were just too many posts to delete in the time I had available and I wasn't sure how much would be left. Just so you know, I don't like all our areas being closed either. None of the old places that my other half and I used to ride are open any more to my knowledge.

I don't know what software RV.net uses for their forum, but with PHPbb as well as vBulletin forum software, selected forums can be made private in that only those with approval can post or even see posts. Obviously, this is possible for RV.net, though, depending on the software they use, it may require more work than it's worth. (It could be just a matter of settings, as with PHPbb and vBulletin.)

In the big blue line at the top of the page you will see "Newest, Active, Popular" click on any one of them and it shows you the new topics in all of RV.Net. For someone with lots of time on their hands this is a temptation to meddle in sections they normally would never see.
If the "Newest, Active, Popular" would only show the "Newest, Active, Popular" for the section you are in you would be less likely to stick your nose in were it doesn't belong, getting normal posters in that section all riled up.
I know for me I have no clue what they are talking about in most of the other sections of RV.Net nor do I want to know.

I will make my suggestion again. People that come into the toy hauler forum with the sole purpose of offending the members should be banned for a minimum of one month. I'm talking about the standard post, "You're all loud drunks and this country should be ran by us environmentally conscience Class A owners. And did I mention that all of you toy hauler owners are loud drunks"
Create a rule and ban them. They have no business coming in here and getting threads closed that have such a significant impact on the toy hauler community.
But seriously, these guys do have a negative image of us off roaders. Look what one San Luis Obispo resident had to say about Kevin Rice, one of the good guys in the fight for our dunes
"Kevin Rice often writes compelling, pursuasive letters which, if one didn't know better, could very well make a person think that the off-road thugs are really reasonable, decent people & have a valid cause. In a way, Rice reminds me of the "moderate" muslims who make nice with westerners out of one side of their mouths while in the company of their fellow believers, they spew hatred of all infidels & advocate more jihad. Despite mr Rice's rational sounding words,I'll wager that when he's hanging out with his fellow off-roaders, he shares their typical macho, violently destructive attitudes toward the natural world & especially the snowy plovers."

Just think what would happen if we went crazy and started posting oue opinion of the Blue Hairs and Wal-Marters in their forums, or God forbid, cr*p on a Airstream owner..... We would be thrown out FAST!!!!!!
