I was using Millenicom Wireless Broadband until today. When I first got the service it took about a dozen calls to Tech Support to get it up and running. Last month they increased their charges to $60 a month. Since then I have been having nothing but problems. Dropped connections and slow downloads, slower than dial-up. Past few days have not been able to get the modem to work. Mailed and had direct contact with their support techs who feel that the problem is with the Franklin Modem. They still have to submit their problems to the main headquarters in Oregon who have to contact Sprint, who will then reply to Oregon then cack to Tech Support in Georgia. Even though I'm less than 50 foot from the WiFi antenna at the RV Resort, my connection is VERY LOW but still better than no connection at all.

Given how much/often full timers rely and depend on the internet, why the data storm system is not more frequently the system of choice? I know the initial cost is hefty, but it seems to me that the on-going savings and reliability would make it worth while. Am I missing something? Thanks

Not everyone can afford the data storm system nor do they have room for the equipment

We use the large Hughes.net Dish on a tripod. It can go out in bad weather just like any TV viewing Dish. There is no perfect system in place for us travelers.

That's the truth!! Everything's a trade off. (Oh how I hate those--unfortunately true--words!)
