After reading about Bilstein shocks by members of this group, I price checked around some of the places. Then went googleing and found a place called SHOCK WORLD, best prices that have found. $320.00 for 4 Bilstein for my 26 ft MH (Ford-350) and they were at my front door on the second day after ordering.

I would say thats a "good deal" I remember prices for my Toyota Supra well over a hundred,the good part of doing it yourself -is you know its done right and you get to look at everything - and find your next weekend project

Which is better: Air shocks where I can adjust the pressure myself or gas shocks?

Air shocks and gas shocks are different animals. Gas (nitrogen) in gas shocks is to minimize foaming. It essentially keeps the fluid (oil) under pressure.
Air shocks are a combination of a damper and lifting device. They essentially combine the damping of the shock and an air bag's ability to add to the springs' ability.

I had a customer that went to Guatemala twice a year in his GM 2500 pickup. He said that until he installed Bilsteins that you couldn't touch the shock when going through Mexico because it was so hot and he would install new shocks each trip. He said after installing them that the shock stayed cool and he could get several trips out of a set. The story sold me on the Bilstein brand.

Are the Bilstiens better than Konis? I want to upgrade out 31SS soon. It wanders and bounces pretty good, but not as bad a the Super C's we were looking at before we bought the 31ss. The fist trip out, I noticed we lost the nut and bushings off one side of the rear sway bar. Once that was fixed it was better, but it could still be more stable.

Don't know. The Koni is more expensive and has the ability to adjust the tension. I couldn't justify the cost difference without more info. so I stayed with the Bilsteins. Maybe someone has used both and could tell us.

I used to think people were nuts, when they told me they put NEW shocks on a NEW vehicle, until I did it.
Yep they were right, good shocks make a HUGE difference in ones driving experience.
My flavor of the month are the Bilstein's, but I want to try the Koni's one of these days, but MAN are they expensive.

I had blisteins and just replaced them with Konis. I feel the ride and handling is greatly improved. I've only taken a few small rides in the city so far and am looking forward to a trip out on the interstate. I have an 05 Ford V10 with a steer safe and air bags.
