When we bought our new Motor Home a few months ago we were advised that we should also buy the Diamon Fusion treatment in case we got a chip or cracked from rocks or other road trash while driving.. So on advice of the RV Dealer we purchased the treatment for 750 dollars Well it happened, got a rock in the windshield that caused the windshield to crack.. Called Diamon Fusion about a claim and much to my surprise the claim was denied... The incident happened while we were traveling on a two week trip and it turns out that we must call with in 24 hours or they will not cover the damage, We did not call until we returned home five days latter. And Yes in fine print on the policy It States " must call within 24 hours or DFSU will not be responsible for warranty. Still looking for an estimate for replacement. Lowest so far is over 2000 Dollars.
I'm sorry, but this sounds like a boarderline scam operation! I wonder how many people don't call within 24hours? I'm sure Diamond Fusion counts on it. What difference does it make if you call now or three days from now? The incident still happened. I wonder how they can keep a straight face when they turn down claims because the short time limit has expired. This is almost criminal IMO.

I am an insurance agent, and I understand this is not an insurance contract, but I can only assume that a clause that states that you must call within 24 hours is there so that the company has an opportunity to repair the damage to the windshield before it begins to grow and spider out from its original damage before it becomes unrepairable. That being said, I do not believe that the contract that was written was done so fairly, because it would seem unreasonable to assume that the insured must call within such a short period of time. That is why most insurance companies offer free windshield repair for glass, but a deductible to replace the damaged glass. Did the delay in reporting the claim somehow further the damage to the windshield rendering the damage unrepairable? There is a common insurance clause that states that the insured is responsible to take reasonable steps to minimize and secure damaged property (in order to minimize insurance payout). Good luck on your recourse, if any.

I wish I had thought of that! May I borrow that quote for future posts when someone whines because their extended warranty will not pay because they didn't follow the rules?
We had the treatment to our windshield, side windows, and shower, performed at the FMCA rally. I will remember the 24 hour rule. But we had it done because it makes the windshield a breeze to clean. Our bug collection traveling up I-5 is unbelievable. I sometimes think I have single handedly decimated an entire population of bugs. After the Daimon-Shield the bugs just don't stick. Ok, so it is alot to spend on a clean windshield. But it works for me. Happy Trails.
