I plan on staying 5 nights in Branson in the middle of August. I know there are a lot of RV parks there. Does anyone have any suggestions. I was considering one of the following: America's Best Campground; Acorn Acres RV Park; Compton Ridge Campgound; or Branson Stagecoach RV Park. I need WiFi service and would like 50 amps.

Will you have kids with you? Are there certain things you would like to be closer to?

We like Ozark Country CG. It's a PA park, free wifi and cable. There is a pool and a very small playground area. Most sites have shade which you will need in August. The sites are not as large as I would like, but I've been in places where they are smaller.

We also like Table Rock State Park CG #2. It has more of an outdoorsy cg feel to it. I like smelling the campfires. There are some fhu sites.

We've never stayed in any of the parks you listed, but I have seen them driving by. Stagecoach is near the state park. Compton Ridge and Acorn Acres will put you closer to Silver Dollar City.

I'm heading to Acorn Acres and Americas Best Campground within the next few weeks. I'll report what I think when I get done. Other than that I can't give any suggestions.

We stay at Tall Pines. They are a passport america place also. There are a lot of good sites in the area. A lot may depend on what you want to do.
If it's going to the show, than you want to be close to town. If it's the lake. There a plenty of parks down by the lake.
It will be humid and sticky in August.
Good luck

Hi, Just saw your message. We stayed at Compton's last year. It has a nice pool and kiddie pool. Really close to Silver Dollar City. Nice laundry. Didn't go in the bathhouses. It has a shuttle to SDC. It has changed owners since we were there. It was ok but did need a little sprucing up. We are going to stay at Cooper Creek over Memorial Weekend. I will post pics and opinions when we get back. Here is a pic of our site at Compton's. Hope you have fun!

Thanks for all the responses. I made reservations for Compton Ridge. Brian, your photo didn't open up for me. It says my settings are wrong. There are so many RV Parks in the area which makes it hard to choose. We have site 107. It is suppose to be one of the good sites. We'll see. Again, thanks.

Kennersonf, Compton ridge will very very close together with their site and like th op stated it does need some sprucing up. Americas best camground has lots to do and is very clean but their sites are close also. If it was me I would go with America's Best Camground. It is off of HWY 248 and close to the blue rout and red route for getting around Branson.

I stay at Comptons Ridge every time I go to Branson and site 107 is a premier site which is very large and not close together. That is the space I usually try to get and they have free WIFI and cable along with inside and outside pool and large playground for children. I love to hear the steam engine blow their whistle at Silver Dollar City. I found the new management great to work with. I was there last October and really enjoyed it. You will enjoy it!

Thanks for the critique Ron. When I made the reservation, Betsy (Staff Member) suggested site 107. She was very helpful and patient with me. I was considering America's Best Campground, but it doesn't look like it has a lot of shade when I viewed it through Google satellite view. We'll be arriving on August 19th for six nights. We plan on taking in a couple of shows and doing some sight seeing.
