I don't think that's true. I find that most people are considerate and try to do the right thing - but there are always a few exceptions.

Ummmm...the Ohio Rally group has played polkas on an accordian. Does that qualify?

I was at the San Diego Chula Vista KOA last September and my irate neighbor came to me and complained about "Those loud Mexicans playing their Ranchero music" on the other side of the campground! All you could hear was the loud and fast Oompa, Ooompa, Ooompa, but no detail to the music.

I walked over with him to the offending campsite. It was an elderly retired couple from Wisconsin playing German/Polish Oktoberfest polka music!!! They offered us each a cold Samuel Adams Oktoberfest brew, and some home-brew and we stayed and listened to some loud Polka!

I thought I was being thoughtful by using my I-pod for my music.
I can turn the ear buds up as loud as I like.

Come to find out the I-pod is more disturbing.
Before I was drowned out by the music - Now all they here is me singing.

However, we do not have to take the cr@9.

I have been more than willing to walk over to a loud music campground with my S&W 40 strapped in plain site, and ask politly if the music could be turned down a notch or two. I almost never get any flack.

People, unless we take back our rights, no one will!

Depends on where you go or camp... I went to the lake here last summer, got my Tube stolen.. Sure most people are good.. But only takes a few to hual by you with thier dirt bikes, and 4 wheelers to stir up dust, and a few to play loud Rap into the early morning hours..

While I would agree that most CAMPERS are considerate with only a few exceptions, the general population has a large group that needs a couple of trips to the woodshed.

I'm all for owning and carrying guns,I have several myself. I have a problem with someone strapping a gun to their hip with the intent to intimidate over a simple issue of loud music. Guns are for self defense when you are in fear of your life not when someone is playing loud music. What you are doing would be considered brandishing a fire arm. I'm curious would you shoot them if they didn't turn it down? I just don't think that is considered responsible gun ownership.

Just so you know I'm a life member of the NRA and not some anti gunner

And the country folks will have some squirrel guns, and good varmint rifles.

The Zydeco guys will have...uhh...a couple of trained attack alligators?
