I didn't get a tach with my manual shift tow and the class c didn't have a temp gauge in it. In order to put a tach in the ford focus you have to get a unit that is called a "tach driver" and an after market tach.
The scan gauge allows me to program in the code for the rv and also get the tach.
Tho only pain is I have to change the fuel tank size etc when switching vehicles but normally I will leave that set to the camper- I like to watch the mpg display so I can feather my foot accordingly.
It wouldn't cost the manufacturers much to put in something like this but of course they won't

I got one about a month ago and I'm cheap. It will take awhile to pay for itself but has valuable info if I can figure out the directions, or sit long enough to understand em.
