I’m a quick learner, but first, I have to know what to learn…

The site for my 1st trip is marked as a 50 amp site.
My PuP has a 30 amp plug and cord standard.
I was told we could hook up to either by someone. Now I’m beginning to wonder what that means.

Will this be a problem? Will I need a 50 amp converter? What else do I need to know? Do I have to change sites?
(Some sites mention both 30 and 50 amp – This one only mentions 50 and the park is full)

I looked through the forum for the answer before posting. I am so new at this that most of the terminology is over my head!!!
Please, in very simple terms, help me out here…
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

M

Most likely the park pedestal will also have a 30-amp connection. If not, then a simple 50-amp to 30-amp pigtail (about $20.00) is all you need, available at any RV store.

Most 50 amp pedistals will have both 30 and 50. I bought one of those pigtails thinking I was going to need it for a 50 amp site and turns out it had both. I have never actully used the thing. But at least I have it.

I picked up a 50-30 pigtail a couple years ago. Only used it once, but I was sure glad I had it that ONE time! It never hurts to have one handy. They take up virtually no space, so why not be prepared?

That is why I never take it out of the back compartment. It sits there and waits for the day I need it.

We seem to use our 50 - 30 pigtail at least once every trip on our 30 amp rig.

Thanks all -
I'll pick one up just in case I need it this trip or future adventures.
