I've heard Monroe actually is the maker of Rancho shocks. And of course is less expensive.??

Rancho is part of the Monroe Corp. But you can't buy a manually adjustable dampening shock with the Monroe brand name on it.

Monroe is owned by Tenneco which also owns Rancho.

Just because a manufacturer might make products under different brand names doesn't mean the products are the same.

its the same with batterys and beer, one company makes many differant brand names or lables but are not made to the same specs or taste.
