Going camping IS our new family tradition. Everything else is a bonus! I'm a real estate agent & cake decorator working from home. Just being able to focus 100% on the kids & our time together has become the best of blessings. It has certainly brought us closer together.

We do enjoy the following:
Cheeseburgers the 1st night
Campfire & S'mores every night
Finding new games to play
Doing puzzles together
Kids love being able to explore CG
Trekking on the trails
Bringing our cocker spaniel (great ice breaker for the kids)

It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can teach our children to honor nature's gifts, the joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever.

A family tradition I've always tried to uphold is to have the kids light the camp fire.
The catch is the youngest goes first (must be 8 years old)and gets one match, no paper or fuels.
Start with light kindling such as pine needles, grasses etc. and build from there.
If the youngest fails to start the fire then the next one tries.
The next day the next one goes first, and so on.
My son has carried on this tradition with his family and hopefully my daughter does the same.
